The Second Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP-2) is a World Bank (WB) and French Development Agency (AFD) co- financed initiative to improve transport conditions and bring sustained access to the rural populace through rehabilitation and maintaining key rural transport infrastructure in a sustainable manner in some selected Nigerian States. The implementation period to achieve this goal is 2014 – 2018. The participating States are Niger, Adamawa, Enugu and Osun States.
The Implementation of the project is being carried out by the State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The oversight of the SPIU is undertaken by the State Project Monitoring Committee, which comprises representatives of Ministries of Finance, Planning Commission, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Justice, Works, Agriculture and Rural Development.

After intensive preparation, rehabilitation works have started on the first 176km, with procurement processes and preparatory technical works for the remaining about 330km also initiated. The procurement of works, goods, and external services by consultants are done following World Bank procedures. Project implementation is subject to annual audit by external auditors. At the end of the project tenure, about 500km of Rural roads is expected to be rehabilitated and is spread across the three Geo-political Zones in the State

Project Development Objective
